Despite the fact that it is less populat than the likes of Costa Rica and Brazil, Uruguay is still a good destination for retirees as you will get to enjoy the highest standard of living in South America at not so much to pay. You won't get that anywhere else for the cost of living in the likes of the United States and Western Europe is just so high (and I don't think you'll like to remain there, would you?)
